Outside Interests: Literature, consumer product design and distributed development, camping and skateboarding with his two children.
Bio: An original member of the team who built Portland's Burnside Skatepark in 1990, Kent has unique experience regarding the on-going maintenance and administration of extremely popular skateparks. Kent traveled across the US assisting cities in the acquisition of skateparks, helping with fundraising, and managing NIMBY opposition. He attended his first city meeting regarding skateboarding in 1985.
You didn't know: Kent once managed a group of engineers located in India, currently manages a group in the Ukraine, and in 1996 was awarded Oregon National Guard's "Airman of the Year," for outstanding achievement in development of an operational guide for a new computer system. He reads an average of one book (fiction) per week, but is known to bury himself in a textbook from time to time. |
