Skateparks provide unique forms found nowhere else in the built or natural environment but those forms were originally derived from man-made structures. Below are some of the more interesting photos from our gallery that demonstrate some seminal institutional forms. These are the forms that are influencing today's skateparks.

Below are a few items of Hong Kong structures submitted by one of the SPS Contributors. There should be unmistakable similarities between these spaces and today's street-style skateparks easily seen even by non-skaters.
