Skatepark for Castlebar Campaign (Ireland)

Hi, my name is John , i have started a campaign to get a skatepark in my local town of Castlebar. I was talking to a friend of mine from San Diego and he gave me a link to your site which im really glad he did. There is lots of helpful information here.
The reason im posting here is for some direction from you guys. I want a really good skate park in Castlebar not a couple of ramps that people will get bored of after a few weeks.
Ive started a petition, ive got backing from the local youth club. There is a few other things I have planned.
Could you give me some suggestions as to where to go from here. Mabey design , costs etc

I think the best advice I could give any group looking to build a public skatepark in their community is to get organized. Form a committee of skaters that can approach city council requesting such a facility. It is much easier than doing it by yourself. You could call it Castlebar Skate Association.

As for design and build info, I know one of our posters Mark Wojton built some parks in Ireland a few years back. He may know who to contact in the area to build you good park.
